Not a lot of people prefer working in the dark. However, working in the dark in the rail infrastructure is more frequently than not the reality. The vision at freight yards is often terrible, especially during Winter. To ensure that our colleagues can work safely and that the environment experience relatively little to no inconvenience of light pollution, we decided to partner up with Triolight. In doing so, we managed to expand our ever growing portfolio by adding the RailLight product.
RailLight is made of aluminum and therefore a light weight. The LED strip uses around 3.2 Watt, (higher Watt is possible) contrary to a lighting pole, which requires a lot more voltage. These lights are specifically developed for rails in freight yards. RailLight is easily installed on the side of the rails via a click system. Equally easy is disassembling them, which is necessary when unloading ballast. The lights are installed via a clip on the side of the rails. The armatures are linked with connectable wires. Because the light faces the ground, train drivers and other personnel are no longer blinded by the light. In addition. RailLight offers many advantages in regards to light poles, which not only require more time and work during installation (think of digging), but also produces more light pollution for the environment.
RailLight contributes greatly to a safer work environment in and around the tracks at freight yards. With the simple installation and the fact that it reduces the light pollution tremendously, makes the RailLight the bright spot in the rail infrastructure. Naturally, these lamps are waterproof, which is especially helpful in such a rainy country as the Netherlands. RailLight fits on every type of rail, even on coated rails, and the purchase of this product is massively cheaper than the purchase of light poles.
